Description

The DryShield Waterproof Field Jacket is built for the in-between months, when the forecast changes twice before lunch. A 10,000mm waterproof rating and fully taped seams keep sustained rain out, while an eco-friendly durable water repellency finish sheds the first shower before it ever soaks in. The shell is windproof but still breathable, so you stay dry from the outside and comfortable from the inside on a long walk or a cold commute.

Practical details carry the design. A rollaway storm hood hides into the collar when you do not need it. Four large waterproof pockets, two zippered chest pockets, one with a sunglass chamois, plus two side pockets, give you real storage, and the chest pocket is earphone-friendly. Reflective chest and arm logos keep you visible after dark, and an adjustable draw cord hem with hook-and-loop cuffs seals the jacket down in wind.

Designed in Canada and made entirely from recycled polyester, shell and lining alike, with waterproof YKK zippers throughout. It works as easily for commuting as it does for hiking or camping, and comes in black, navy and orange across sizes XS to XXL. Wash cold on a gentle cycle and reproof the water repellency finish periodically to keep water beading on the surface.

Rain Stops At The Shell

A 10,000mm waterproof rating and fully taped seams hold out sustained rain, not just a passing shower. The repellent finish beads water off before it ever soaks in.

Dry Outside, Comfortable Inside

The shell blocks wind while staying breathable, so heat moves out instead of building up. That is the difference between a jacket you wear all day and one you end up carrying.

Made For Unpredictable Months

Northsilk built this one for the weeks when the forecast changes twice before lunch. Practical pockets and a clean field jacket line keep it useful and easy to wear.

Frequently Asked Questions

How waterproof is it really?

Rated at 10,000mm with fully taped seams, which covers sustained rain rather than a light drizzle. The repellent finish sheds the first shower before the fabric gets a chance to wet out.

Will I overheat wearing it?

No. The shell is windproof but still breathable, so body heat and moisture move out while the rain stays on the surface.

Is it warm enough for winter?

It is a shell first, built for wind and rain in the in between months. Layer a fleece or a knit underneath and it carries straight into cold weather.

What are the pockets like?

Practical and placed where you actually reach, so keys, phone and gloves all have a home without breaking the clean front line.

How should I wash it?

Machine wash cool and hang to dry. Leave the fabric softener out, since it coats the surface and dulls the water repellent finish over time.
