Description

The Soft Casual Crew Sweatshirt is a plain, well-cut basic and makes no apology for it. There is no zip and no placket, just a pull-on body in a soft polyester knit that sits loose through the chest and shoulders. It is the piece that goes under a jacket in March and works on its own by May, which is what makes a sweatshirt worth owning in the first place.

The fit is deliberately relaxed rather than fitted. Breathability was the priority in the fabric choice, so it does not trap heat the way a heavy fleece does, and full-length regular sleeves finish at the wrist without gripping. Body lengths run from 100cm at S to 125cm at XXXL, which is generous, so the sweatshirt hangs rather than clings and layers cleanly over a tee.

Colours cover a genuinely wide range, from the safe neutrals of black, grey, navy and khaki through to blue, green, brown, red, pink and yellow, so it is easy to buy two or three without duplicating. Sizes run S through XXXL. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low; the polyester knit holds its shape and colour well through repeated washing.

A Basic Done Properly

No zip and no placket, just a pull on body in a soft polyester knit. It is the piece that goes under a jacket in March and works on its own by May, which is what makes a sweatshirt worth owning.

Relaxed, Not Fitted

The cut sits loose through the chest and shoulders, and full length regular sleeves finish at the wrist without gripping. Body lengths run 100cm to 125cm, so it hangs rather than clings.

Breathes Where Fleece Does Not

Breathability drove the fabric choice, so it does not trap heat the way a heavy fleece does. That is what makes it a spring and autumn piece you can comfortably keep on indoors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it fit?

Deliberately relaxed rather than fitted, loose through the chest and shoulders, with generous body lengths from 100cm at S to 125cm at XXXL. It hangs rather than clings and layers cleanly over a tee.

What is it made from?

One hundred percent polyester knit, chosen for breathability. It holds its shape and its colour well through repeated washing, which is most of what you want from a sweatshirt you plan to wear constantly.

What time of year is it for?

Spring and autumn. It is light enough to keep on indoors and works under a jacket when the mornings are still cold, then stands on its own once the weather turns mild.

What colours are available?

Black, grey, navy, khaki, blue, green, brown, red, pink and yellow, across sizes S through XXXL. The range is wide enough to buy two or three from Northsilk without duplicating.

How do I care for it?

Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. The polyester knit keeps its shape and its colour through repeated washing, so it looks much the same in month twelve as it did in week one.
